It was a spontaneous gathering, since the Classic Racing Club (CRC) hasn’t actually officially launched yet. Nevertheless, four participants sought each other out at the Sachsen Classic 2026, found one another, and registered as a team for the team competition. With their wonderful cars, our CRC friends—Tobias K. and Frauke K., Dirk J. and Oliver J., Thorsten A. and Nicole M., as well as Frank R. and Anakin R.—actually met by chance during the technical inspection and, despite that, formed the first team in the history of the Classic Racing Club.
The event took place as part of the 2026 Sachsen Classic. This year’s edition (August 13–15, 2026) began and ended in Dresden and featured two days of driving, each with stages over 230 kilometers long, through the Eastern Ore Mountains, Saxon Switzerland, and across the Czech border (including a stop in Most). Along the route, history, technology, and passion merged with precise navigation and a touch of nostalgia. Drivers followed the roadbook, and the timed special stages were additionally measured using digital stopwatches.
In the end, the first-ever Classic Racing Club team even managed to finish in a respectable 6th place out of 16 teams in the team standings! Naturally, all members of the CRC team were happy and satisfied, because without preparation and consistent communication during the rally, they simply couldn’t have done any better against the other experienced teams. Well done, and we’re proud of you!
